Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state

The Supreme has revised an order by the Governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde dissolving All the local government councils in Oyo.

The apex court on Friday May 7, declared the dissolution as illegal.

The court also condemned their replacement with caretaker committees. It said the replacement of the council chairman with caretaker committees is unlawful.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state was widely criticized after he sacked all the local government chairpersons in the state and appointed caretaker chairmen in May 2019.
