President Buhari Is Dividing Nigeria With His Divisive Utterances

President Muhammadu Buhari has been called out by a  socio-political group, the Movement for Equity and Justice in Nigeria (MEJIN).

The group accused Buhari of using his speeches to divide Nigerians.

The group alleged that all the body language and utterances of the President favoured the Niger Republic and the wider Fulani empire in Africa.

The Movement’s Spokesperson, Yinka Friday, made the allegations in a statement on Wednesday.

The group also explained that secession bids in Nigeria have not always been an Igbo affair as historical revisionists want the world to believe, claiming that other regions have one time or the other demanded exit from the Nigerian union.

On the backdrop of President Buhari’s outbursts against IPOB, the group traced the history of attempted secession in Nigeria to the 1950s, noting secession started in the North in 1950 when Northerners threatened to leave Nigeria if half of the Seat in the federal parliament by the colonial government is not granted to them.

The group claimed that “In 1967 after the July counter-coup, the North also threatened to leave Nigeria in the Araba riots and killings.

“From 2002 till date the murderous Boko Haram in the North has been trying to balkanise Nigeria on religious grounds declaring Caliphate Republics in various Northern towns.

“In the West, The June 12 saga led to the declaration of the Oduduwa Republic until power was hurriedly shifted to it to calm frayed nerves. The agitation is on today in the face of the killings by killer herdsmen in the West.

“After the horrendous pogrom against the Igbos and Easterners in the second half of the 60s, they declared the Biafran Republic and made spirited but failed effort to realise it.

“Before then in 1966 Adaka Boro led a secession bid and declared the Niger Delta Republic that was enervated by the Nigeria government then.

”So secession and secession bid in Nigeria is and has not been an Igbo affair as historical revisionists want the world to believe, we warn against tagging all Igbos secessionists or any such insinuations.

“Agitations are features in all parts of the country and are fallouts of misgovernance or failure of leadership and inclusiveness in the country. We warn against provocative and inciting write-ups such as the one by the COALITION OF NORTHERN GROUPS, CNG which was advertised recently”.

The organization called on President Buhari to build an inclusive nation and halt the militarization of the South East and Nigeria.

Nigerians have been warned to avoid joining Pastor Tunde Bakare’s Nigeria-for-Nigeria movement because it is not of God.

Pastor Tunde Bakare is the leading pastor in charge of the Citadel Global Community Church.

Primate Elijah Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church gave the warning on Friday.

Primate Ayodele warned that the movement by Pastor Bakare is not of God, because a major disaster awaits Nigerians if they join the movement.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the clergyman stressed that the movement was aimed at putting Nigerians in further bondage.

Bakare had a few days ago launched the “Nigeria-for-Nigeria” group.

Addressing his members, Bakare had said the new group would be greater than the “Save Nigeria Group”, a pressure group which he convened in 2010.

“I am going to champion it and it will go like wildfire across this nation. Nigeria-for-Nigeria will be bigger than Save Nigeria Group,” the fiery pastor had said.

However, Primate Ayodele cautioned Nigerians against joining the group.

He noted that Bakare created the group to further his political ambition and not because it’s God’s agenda.

According to Primate Ayodele: “Tunde Bakare’s Nigeria for Nigeria movement is not divine, it is another means to put Nigerians in bondage again. Nigerians should not join this movement or else, another disaster awaits us.

“I am not talking as a politician but as God’s mouthpiece, Tunde Bakare’s Nigeria for Nigeria movement is another agenda for his political ambition and not God’s agenda.

“God is angry with the present government, those who have corrupted the system, Nigeria is stagnant, let’s stop deceiving ourselves, though a messiah will still come to our rescue.”

Resign Now Before Implicating APC – Kekemeke Tells Buni

Buni

Governor Mai Mala Buni

Isaac Kekemeke, the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state has appealed to Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State to resign as the party’s Caretaker Committee Chairman.

According to Kekemeke, the Caretaker Committee Chairman should throw in the towel to prevent the party from walking on a landmine.

During the Wednesday judgment, where the election of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was upheld after a four-to-three judgment, the seven justices of the Supreme Court agreed the party was in violation of the Nigerian constitution and the party’s constitution.

Speaking in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Kekemeke stated that the verdict of the apex court implied that APC is lawless which he said was a dangerous signal for the party.

While calling for the immediate convocation of a committee for conduct of the party’s forthcoming congresses and national convention, Kekemeke maintained that with Buni in the saddle, he might implicate the party.

“In saner climes, Governor Buni and all those serving in executive positions and are in the APC Caretaker Committee should have stepped down for an ad hoc committee or some emergency committee to start immediately the process of a convention with a view to electing officials who will have to adopt or approve decisions taken so that opposition parties or aggrieved members do not wait for us,” he said.

We Are Not Aware of $875m Ammunition Deal With US

Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has said the federal government does not have any $875 million ammunition deal with the United States.

According to him, such a news is fake.

Recall it was widely reported that the US cancelled $875 million ammunition deal with the US because of President Muhammadu Buhari’s bad human rights record.

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, the minister said there was no contract of such nature and sum between Nigeria and the US

“There is no contract of arms between the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the United States of America today apart from the 12 Super Tucano Attack Helicopters of which six had been delivered.

“We are quite satisfied with the progress and cooperation that we received from the government of the US on this issue.

“As a matter of fact, six of the Tucano helicopter will be launched on Aug. 3, this year.

“We are not aware of the so called 875million USD arms contract or some helicopters which they said some lawmakers in the US are trying to persuade the president of the US not to honour

” The relationship between Nigeria and the US is smooth and waxing stronger,’’ he said.

The reports in some sections of the media had claimed that influential U.S. lawmakers were masterminding a hold on a proposed sale of ammunition and attack helicopters to Nigeria over allegations of human rights abuses and anti-democratic actions of the present administration.

The report listed the blocked proposed sale to include 12 AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters accompanied by defence systems, 28 helicopter engines produced by GE Aviation and 14 military-grade aircraft navigation systems made by Honeywell.
