Simon Cowell still clueless when it comes to Celebrity X Factor
Simon Cowell has admitted he was clueless when it came to Celebrity X Factor as Love Island stars and the likes of Brendan Cole and Jenny Ryan rocked up to his pad to belt some tunes.
The traditional X Factor format was scrapped this year and will instead be replaced with a Celebrity and All-Star edition of the show, which would normally have launched this bank holiday weekend.
In its place, Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions will launch with the likes of Paul Potts and an unrecognisable Connie Talbot battling it out again, with the revamped X Factor expected to follow.
Although, if you want any information from Simon, think again. The music mogul appears to be just as in the dark you are, even if it’s his show.
‘All I know is when we’re shooting it, I’m not certain when it’s going out,’ explained the father-of-one during today’s Lorraine. ‘I’ve shot the Celebrity version, the first two days. On my life I had no idea who was turning up.’
Thankfully, we do.
Love Island’s Wes Nelson, Zara McDermott, Samira Mighty and Eyal Brooker will be forming a supergroup, Vinnie Jones bravely soldiered on filming shortly after the death of his wife, Glee star Kevin McHale, and Love Actually child star Olivia Olson are among those to have been snapped up for the first star-studded X Factor since Rebecca Loos and Sharon Osbourne’s venomous spat in 2006.
As for the All Stars edition, Louis Walsh previously revealed Leona Lewis and Alexandra Burke will be among the former champions taking part while Shayne Ward recently ruled himself out for other commitments, which may indicate he’s heading to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! instead.
Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions starts tomorrow at 8pm on ITV with Celebrity X Factor and X Factor All Stars expected to follow.
