A transgender woman is suing Google for $1,823,500, claiming her salary was lowered by 25% after her sex-change operation due to the company’s “pay discrimination policy”.

31-year old Angelica Sullivan filed a complaint on Friday with the San Francisco Superior Court alleging that Google lowered her salary by 25,75% after she changed her sex designation in her employee file.

When she discovered that her wage had been lowered, she asked Google to compensate her for the wage gap and financial loss. The corporation declined to pay her for the discrepancy, and Sullivan resigned in August

Ms. Sullivan claims her superior told her it was the company’s policy and she would get demoted if she didn’t stop whining.

“He complained that I was bitching and taking my period out on him and said that’s this kind of hysteria is the reason women to rise to higher levels.”

She says she felt degraded by her superior’s misogynistic attitude and filed an official complaint with the company’s human resources but to no avail.

“Even the woman from human resources told me it was perfectly normal to be paid 25% less since women have their periods for one week every month and are less productive. I’m not even menstruated, but they don’t care.”

Ms. Sullivan says she never realized how misogynistic Google was before she got her surgery, but that she has recently discussed with other female employees and realized that the discrimination was generalized.

Angelica Sullivan’s claims follow a number of other pay gap allegations filed against Google over the past two years.

The corporation is presently facing two major class-action lawsuits as well as several individual procedures from both employees and former employees.

Thousands of women that Google is paying women less than men doing similar work while also denying promotions and career opportunities to qualified women who are “segregated” into lower-paying jobs.

Ms. Sullivan’s case will be treated separately by the San Francisco Superior Court as her transgender status makes her case unique.
